+Lenten Guest Speaker: Friday, March 31st, 5:00pm – 5:30pm

(5:30-6:30pm Holy Hour, night prayer, and soup potluck to follow)

Sr. Maria Teresa, of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal, will be visiting us from the Bronx, NY, and will be speaking with the parish about being mission minded as Catholics and will be sharing some of her experiences as a religious sister evangelizing in the streets of NY. After her talk, and during the Holy Hour, Sr. will share with any young children present for 20 minutes down in Lourde’s Hall about what it means to listen to God’s call and will share her vocation story (children will then re-join families for the remainder of the Holy Hour). All families are welcome!

About Sr. Maria Teresa:
Originally from Spring Lake Mi, Sr. Maria Teresa is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal, a community of religious sisters based in New York who live a simple Gospel life while serving the material and spiritual needs of the poor and engaging in works of evangelization.
Prior to entering the convent, Sr. Maria Teresa attended Boston College on a tennis scholarship. Her life took an unexpected turn her sophomore year after encountering Jesus in the Eucharist and in the poor on a mission trip to Honduras. After graduating with a degree in Political Science, she spent a year as a missionary in Honduras before entering religious life in 2005. Sr. Maria Teresa is currently the Local Servant (Superior) of Our Lady Queen of Angels Convent in East Harlem where the sisters have a soup kitchen, food and clothing pantry, and a youth ministry program.
