Into the Mystery: A Day of Eucharistic Renewal, Unity, and Adventure

This event will serve as a sort of mini-Eucharistic Congress for the diocese, gathering Catholics throughout the diocese for a daylong celebration of our unity in faith and sacrament as we transition to the parish year of the national Eucharistic Revival.
The day will include Mass with Bishop Walkowiak; talks by Father Jonathan Kelly, rector of St. John Vianney College Seminary, and Missionary Meg Hunter-Kilmer; along with a Eucharistic procession to publicly witness to our faith.
In the morning, we will hear from Father Jonathan Kelly. Father Kelly is rector of St. John Vianney College Seminary in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, chaplain for the University of St. Thomas football team and the local chapter of Legatus. He is also a spiritual director and adjunct faculty for the Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha, Nebraska, and current President of the National Association of College Seminaries.
Our afternoon speaker will be Meg Hunter-Kilmer, a missionary and storyteller who travels the world telling people about the fierce and tender love of God. She holds two degrees in theology from the University of Notre Dame, is a Fellow of the Sullivan Family Saints Initiative in the McGrath Institute for Church Life, and has written two books about the Saints: Saints Around the World (an international saint storybook for children) and Pray for Us: 75 Saints who Sinned, Suffered, and Struggled on Their Way to Holiness.
The day will also include time for participants to:
– celebrate the sacrament of confession
– visit a ministry fair showcasing ways to serve and give within our diocese
– explore the Vatican display of Eucharistic Miracles provided by the Mary Our Mother Foundation (some of you may be familiar with this exhibit which has already been hosted by some of our parishes)
– participate in Eucharistic Adoration in Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel.
All are invited to stay after the event for a festival which will include live music and food available for purchase from food trucks. The festival will run from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Boxed lunches will be provided to registrants. Registration cost for the day is $10/person or $40/family household. Please plan to join us for this day focused on worship of the Blessed Sacrament and growth in our understanding of its mystery.

Este evento servirá como una especie de mini-Congreso Eucarístico para la diócesis, reuniendo a un gran número de fieles de todas las parroquias para un día centrado en la adoración del Santísimo Sacramento y el crecimiento en nuestra comprensión de su misterio. Naturalmente, la jornada eucarística centrará su atención en torno a la celebración de la Misa. La otra oportunidad importante para el culto eucarístico será una procesión por el área del colegio y vecindario cercano a este como la actividad final del día.
Además de las celebraciones litúrgicas, tendremos a dos presentadores reconocidos:
Por la mañana escucharemos al Padre Jonathan Kelly. El Padre Kelly tiene múltiples responsabilidades entre las que podemos mencionar la de rector del seminario “Saint John Vianney College” de la Arquidiócesis de Saint Paul-Minneapolis, capellán del equipo de fútbol americano de la Universidad de “Saint Thomas”, así como director espiritual y profesor adjunto del Instituto de Formación Sacerdotal de Omaha, Nebraska, y actual Presidente de la Asociación Nacional de Seminarios Universitarios.
Meg Hunter-Kilmer es nuestra otra presentadora invitada y quien estará por la tarde. Ella es misionera y cronista que viaja por el mundo hablando a las comunidades sobre el amor apasionado y tierno de Dios. Tiene dos licenciaturas en teología por la Universidad de Notre Dame, es miembro de “Sullivan Family Saints Initiative en el McGrath Institute for Church Life”, y ha escrito dos libros sobre los santos: Santos alrededor del Mundo (Saints Around the World) un libro para niños de cuentos de santos de varios paises y Ruega por Nosotros (Pray for Us) 75 santos que pecaron, sufrieron y lucharon en su camino a la santidad.

Todos están invitados a quedarse después de la Procesión Eucarística para un festival con música en vivo y proveedores locales estarán vendiendo comida, refrescos y cerveza. El festival familiar tendrá lugar de 5:30 pm a 7:30 p.m.
Se ofrecerá un almuerzo para todos aquellos que se hayan inscrito. El costo de inscripción es de $10.00 por persona o $40 por familia.
