Formation Talk: Gender

The rise of various ideologies of gender has led to confusion in the media, in schools, and in public policy. What insights does Catholic teaching have to offer? How can parents help their children navigate this confusion?

This is the third in a series of talks about the Catholic worldview. The talk will take place at 6:45 pm on Wednesday, January 25th at Our Lady of Grace (immediately following the 6:15 Mass).

The recording of the talk can be found here: https://anchor.fm/st-marys-of-the-immaculate-conception/episodes/Gender-e1u0uo9

The Genesis of Gender by Abigail Favale. This is the best overall intro that I’ve read to the topic. Favale is a convert to Catholicism and has done extensive study in gender and feminist thought.

When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment by Ryan T. Anderson. The book doesn’t draw on any particular theology, but Anderson looks at the transgender issue from a variety of other perspectives: philosophical, biological, and psychological.
