OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)
Are you…..
- Searching for a deeper relationship with God?
- Interested in becoming Catholic?
- Unbaptized?
- A baptized Christian from a Protestant background?
- Baptized Catholic but never received your First Holy Communion or Confirmation?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, please consider the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults). OCIA is a tradition dating back to the earliest Christians that forms and prepares individuals to lead a full and active sacramental life with God and in communion with the Catholic Church.
The Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation) are celebrated during the Easter Vigil.
Reception into the full communion of the Catholic church for those already baptized is celebrated once per year, normally during the Easter season.
Inquiry sessions begin in the Spring each year, but you are encouraged to contact us anytime!

“OCIA” for Children
Christian Initiation is offered for children who have not been baptized before the age of 7 and wish to be received into full communion with the Catholic Church. The Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation are typically received at the Easter Vigil.
It is highly encouraged that the children attend Mass regularly before beginning preparation for the sacraments. In addition to weekly classes, these children will be required to attend additional formation sessions with their parents and special liturgical rites throughout the year leading up to their initiation.
Parents interested should register their child(ren) for Faith Formation classes. Registration for the 2025-2026 formation year will open in May 2025.
