Theology on Tap: Beauty, Goodness, & Truth: Business and Catholic Social Teaching – Mallory Root

What is the mission of the Church, what is the purpose of work, and what do they have to do with one another? Mallory Root’s talk will help us understand the integration of faith, work, and Catholic social teaching, and how to live as Catholics in our places of work.

Thursday, November 21 at 7 PM in the former Hennessy’s pub

Mallory Root is the reluctant owner and steadfast captain of Roots Brew Shop, a coffee shop on the Westside of Grand Rapids known for its eclectic tables and chairs, Saturday morning waffles, and for being affectionately known as the largest parish in Grand Rapids. Roots is a place of encounter where beauty, goodness, and truth are explored in the lofty and the mundane. This has inspired her and her business partner to start a new endeavor of a co-working space on the Westside. Mallory is not an entrepreneur, but merely a steward of the talents with which the Lord has entrusted her. She holds a BA in Art from Hillsdale College and loves people more than coffee.
